5 Lighting Techniques for Your Wellness Spot at Home

A wellness spot at home can help you stay consistent in maintaining your well-being. Doing so allows you to improve in different aspects of your life.

On the other hand, creating a wellness spot at home can be costly. If you have a limited budget, we suggest that you start with the lighting.

In this post, we will share five lighting techniques that you can do to achieve a “zen vibe.”

1. Know the tone you want

Have you ever done yoga at a yoga studio? Usually, these places would consider the type of lighting they have to set a tone.

If you’re creating a mini version of that same environment, you should also pay special attention to what manner you wish to make. You want to take your time thinking about what best suits that part of your home.

When you’re creating a wellness spot at home, sometimes it’s not all about meditation and yoga. Again, you need to think about the tone you want to make or the tone that helps you function at your best when you’re in the wellness spot.

Some people want their wellness spot to be bright and clear. For some people, their wellness spot should be inviting and warm. Either way, it will depend on how you want to feel when you’re there.

A good idea to keep in mind is that the softer you want your lighting to be, the more subdued and relaxed you’re going to feel.

Given that fact, you should know that not every wellness activity calls for relaxation, so choose the tone you want to set wisely with your lighting.

2. Bring the natural light in

Getting some natural light in your home is always a good thing. It helps brighten up your house in both atmosphere and literal light levels.

You must bring the natural light to your wellness spot, especially if this is where you do yoga or other workout routines.

What you want to achieve is the feeling of openness. However, not everyone can afford a spacious home, and if you do have a part of your home that’s spacious, you probably won’t devote your wellness space to it.

Having natural light in your wellness spot creates a sense of openness and brightness that will make your space look larger. Thus, it will give you a sense of openness even if the physical state of it says otherwise.

3. Mimic natural light

If you don’t have easy access or as much access to natural light as you’d want, Halcyon lighting recommends that you find a way to mimic natural light instead. And while natural light is still the best option, that doesn’t mean artificial lighting cannot do the job.

When choosing artificial lighting, though, you should be looking for not how you would usually shop for lighting in other areas of your home. You don’t want the light to be too bright and with a cool temperature because it won’t feel like natural light at all. You want your lighting to be somewhat subdued and warm.

With that said, you may be better off choosing fluorescent bulbs when lighting your wellness spot. Fluorescent bulbs are warmer, and they have more of a yellowish tint to them which can be similar to that of afternoon natural lighting.

4. Choose the right colors

If you want to be extra particular about your lighting, consider playing around with the colors that you can incorporate in there.

There are all sorts of lighting colors available out there. The key is to choose the right palette, so to speak, that would get you in the right mood.

You can play around at first at home and see which colors help you relax the most. However, if you want to get a brief idea of which ones may be a good call, try out colors like blue and green.

Try to keep these nowhere near the neon range. Keep the light and subtle so that you can calm yourself while in your wellness spot.

5. Consider galaxy lighting

Are you looking for a lighting option that’s out of the ordinary? Consider getting some galaxy lighting into your wellness space.

If you want to manifest your belief in the universe, there’s nothing quite like doing yoga and meditating while surrounded by the stars. Galaxy lighting can provide that for you.

Of course, galaxy lighting is not an actual light fixture that you install. It’s more of an item or gadget with a laser light that projects a swirling image of a galaxy all over your wellness spot. It’s an experience worth trying at the very least.

If you want to try something new, give galaxy lighting a try. You might find that it does elevate your wellness experience.

Lighting can do so much in sprucing up space. More so if it’s your wellness spot. So, consider the lighting techniques listed above and see how they can help you achieve inner peace.
